ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine the influence of school location on biology achievement of ss1 students in etim ekpo local government area. Specifically, the study was aimed at investigating the influence of school location on biology achievement of ss1 students in etim ekpo local government area, ascertain the impact of school location on student learning habit, and investigate if there is any relationship between school location and achievement of SS1 students in biology. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 133 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that school location have a significant impact on SS1 biology students’ learning habit. Also, the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between school location and influence on biology achievement of SS1 students. The study therefore recommended government and communities should ensure that students have access to the schools nearest to their areas of residence. Also, government should ensure that while drafting the plans of the LGAs, location of schools should be in areas that is more serene for teaching and learning. More so, school management should ensure there are school buses that convey students tro and fro to school. This will help to reduce the stress they pass through while using different means of transportation including trekking to school.
